The Barreau de Montréal invites you to explore our judicial institutions during this open house.
Numerous activities will take place throughout the day at the Montreal Courthouse (10 Saint-Antoine East Street).
The Quebec Court of Appeal (100 Notre-Dame East Street) will also open its doors to the public as part of its 175th anniversary celebrations.

Guided tours of the Courthouse
Guided tours of the Montreal Courthouse will be organized throughout the day with regular departures. Registration is available on-site
Duration of the visit: approximately 45 minutes.
Schedule: Doors open at 9:30 a.m., tours begin at 10:00 a.m., and the last tour ends at 4:00 p.m.*
*You will need to go through security. Plan your arrival time accordingly and travel light.
Guided tours of the Court of Appeal
Join us to explore the magnificent Ernest-Cormier building, home of the Quebec Court of Appeal in Montreal.
Guides will take you on a tour of the premises, and you will have the opportunity to meet judges and staff who will share more about the Court’s operations.
Duration of the visit: approximately 45 minutes.
Schedule: Doors open at 11:30 a.m., tours begin at 12:00 p.m., and the last tour ends at 1:45 p.m.*

Free legal consultations
As part of Aim for Justice Events, the Barreau de Montréal offers legal consultations to the public. The aim of this initiative is to facilitate access to justice by offering free legal advice.
Volunteer attorneys will be on hand to answer questions from the public, in French and English, as well as in several languages, in a variety of legal fields, including family law, employment law, immigration law, taxation, administrative disputes…

Mock trial (activity in French)
Vous êtes conviés au Procès du Grand Méchant Loup : un événement unique et tant attendu !
Après une saga judiciaire palpitante, le Grand Méchant Loup a été reconnu coupable de diverses infractions criminelles. Le moment est enfin venu pour la juge de lui imposer sa sentence. Mais voilà, l’avocat de la défense et la procureure de la Couronne ne parviennent pas à s’entendre sur la peine à infliger.
C’est là que vous intervenez ! En tant que juré, vous êtes invités à assister à ce procès captivant où sera débattue une question cruciale : Faut-il retirer le Grand Méchant Loup des contes pour enfants ? Ne manquez pas cette occasion de participer à un événement judiciaire hors du commun et de décider du sort du plus célèbre des loups !

A unique opportunity to meet team members of SPVM specialized units, including the Groupe Tactique d’Intervention (GTI), the Support and Specialized Interventions (SIS) group, as well as the Canine Unit.

Meeting with the judges of the Court of Appeal
Learn more about the Quebec Court of Appeal during this event hosted by Yves Boisvert. A panel of Court of Appeal judges will answer questions from the experienced journalist.
