2007-2008 Me Jean-Claude Hébert
Admitted to the Bar of Quebec in 1971, Mtre Jean-Claude Hébert has served as a litigator in criminal, administrative and disciplinary courts. He is also Adjunct Professor in the Department of Legal Sciences of the Université du Québec à Montréal.
As a result of his involvement in some important cases, Mtre Hébert became actively involved in the work of several investigative commissions. He has also participated actively in a number of Bar committees and task forces associated with the legal profession.
He has contributed assiduously to the literature of the law: more than a hundred articles and columns in various law reviews bear his name. With the expertise developed over time in the field of financial, economic and commercial crime, Mtre Hébert published a specialized volume on criminal aspects of corporate law with Editions Yvon Blais in 2002.
In 2006, as part of a continuing collaboration with the news media to help the public understand subjects of a legal nature, Mtre Hébert published an essay entitled “Fenêtres sur la justice” with Éditions du Boréal. It is to pay tribute to his devotion to the cause of justice that the members of the Council unanimously endorsed the recommendation of the Committee to award the Medal of the Bar of Montreal to Mtre Jean-Claude Hébert.
